Shaesta Waiz, a pioneering figure in aviation, made history in 2017 as the youngest woman to solo circumnavigate the globe in a single-engine aircraft. Originating from a refugee camp, Waiz and her family fled the Afghan-Soviet conflict, settling in America in 1987. Growing up in Richmond, California, with her parents and five sisters in an underprivileged educational setting, Waiz's early life was marked by adversity.
